Caramel apple bites

My monsters love candy apples, yet never seem to be able to finish one. So today I made them bite size ones and they loved it!

Ingredients:
Apples
Pretzel sticks
Caramel

Slice apples into wedges and then cut each wedge in half. Pat dry. Carefully insert a pretzel stick into each one. (If you won’t be eating them right away, I would use a tooth pick. Pretzels become soggy after a little while. If serving them to kiddos you can replace the toothpicks with the pretzels before serving) Melt caramel according to package directions. Carefully dip each apple piece into caramel and let excess caramel drip off. You can also dip them into nuts, sprinkles, or candy if your choice. Let cool and serve!

You’ve been Booed…

So this evening someone knocked on our door as we were finishing up dinner. We’re not used to people just showing up without calling first. When I opened the door I was surprised to see no one was there. But a little halloween basket full of treats withp
a note that says “you have been booed!” The monsters were very excited, random snacks just popping up on our front porch doesn’t usually happen. They were equally excited to learn we get to return the favor to two other neighbors! What a fun way to start this new chapter of our lives in our new home! I hope this continues yearly!

So it’s been months since I’ve actually taken the time to update my blog. Life never seems to slow down when you’re raising 4 lil monsters!

We are slowly getting settled in to the new house. Our 7 year old monster is loving her new school. Our oldest monster is doing well in homeschool and starts his first part time job as a dish washer tomorrow at a local diner. Seriously, what happened to that little 4 pound monster I was blessed with 16 years ago? Our toddler monster is constantly up and down the new stairs. And our baby monster is just mastering pulling herself into a standing position. Slow down! This does not have to be a race to see who can grow up the fastest!

I am trying new ways to make this non stop chaotic life a little more manageable. Yesterday I made groceries for 2+ weeks, did I mention making groceries is one of my least fave things to do and I would much rather send my husband to the store with a list? Today I decided while I wore my little monster on my back and was cooking dinner why not multi task a bit more and prep some other meals for later this week or next week and toss them in the freezer? 4 more meals will quickly be able to be dumped in the crock pot now or just heated up…a little extra time with my little monsters each of those 4 afternoons makes this mama smile!
