Bunny started choir, ballet, and tap today. In addition to her cheerleading this little gal keeps a busy schedule. But at least she gets to do all three activities with one of her best friends! After watching her sissy’s class Buggie can’t wait to take her first ballet & tap class this week too! I love the variety of activities our monsters are interested in. While it may keep me on my toes, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Especially when I see their happiness.

Skateboard tombstones
Posted onBudah came up with the rad idea to make tombstones for Halloween with some of his old broken skateboards. The decks are a perfect shape!
We used the spray paint that gives a stone look. When the paint was dry about an hour later we used stencils with black & silver sharpies for the words and dates. The one with the “AH” and the “18” is representing one of his favorite skateboard brands Anti Hero. For the other four decks we used dates that were significant to our family. “1805” The year my great great great great great grandfather was born on my dad’s side. “1927” The year my maw-maw was born. “2007” The year Matt & I got married. We finished that one with “love never dies”. “2012” The year we moved into our family home that we were blessed enough to watch be built from the ground up. We were pretty pleased with the way they turned out. And having the quality time working on a craft project with my son that was his idea, well that was just bonus. The best part, as we finished he came up with yet another rad idea to do for Halloween with more of his old decks. I can’t wait for us to get started on it!

Posted onOrganized chaos
Posted onMost of our days are pretty full of chaos. But with a little bit of organization we make it work for us. Today was an extremely busy day. I woke up with quite the agenda and we pulled off every single thing on the list. Things aren’t really changing. So I will more than likely be under the knife again in a few days. While I am not looking forward to the healing process all over again, I will be thrilled when this is all behind me. So I decided to get some things prepared for my family for the time that I will be down for the count. Makin’ groceries is pretty high up on my “least favorite things to do” list. But Matt & I made it through Costco & HEB pretty quick with my grocery list. This afternoon with the help of my mom, I prepared 17 freezer meal and 23 smoothies. Our freezer couldn’t possibly hold another thing. So now if I do have a surgery all my mom or Matt will have to do is toss the already prepared meal in the crock pot or oven. And if by chance things change with my health before my appointment this week, then I am well prepared for our dinners for the next two and a half weeks. Then it was off to a few stores to get everything our girls need for their tap & ballet classes. Oh my goodness does Buggie look absolutely adorable in her little tutus! Bunny is very excited that she will be in the same class with one of her very best friends too! Matt was a brave soul to take on these stores with me, my friend, and five little ladies! We even survived taking them for an ice cream after we found all the right sized ballet shoes, tap shoes, tights, leotards, and tutus.Tonight was the much anticipated series finale of Breaking Bad. (SPOILER ALERT) I knew Walt would use that ricin on Lydia! Thrilled Jessie is free after getting to kill Todd himself! Marie finally knows where Hank is. Walt got to see his family one last time. That he took care of all of the people that could harm his family after he was gone. It was inevitable that Walt would be dead by the end of the episode. But we are sad to see one of our favorite shows come to an end. Though I don’t think it could have ended on a better note.I am one exhausted mama now. But glad we got so much done today. Another crazy busy week ahead of us full of school, work, drivers ed, choir, ballet, tap, cheerleading practice, Doctor’s appointments, football games, and possibly a surgery. Our life may be full of organized chaos, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love this chaotic life I live and the fabulous people I have around me. Today would have been my Godfather’s birthday. And I know I don’t speak for myself when I say Freeman is greatly missed.
Ladies night out
Posted onWhat a fun night out with Em! We have been looking forward to taking this painting class for what seems like weeks now. We are both the same kind of mamas that like being with our monsters all the time and rarely take time for ourselves. We prefer hanging out with our monsters in tow. Of course Buggie & Mase love it since he is her little boyfriend. Tonight we “attempted” to paint the Vincent Van Gogh master piece “Country road in Provence”. What a blast! Of course in my usual way I didn’t quite finish mine. I was so OCD like always that I took forever on little details and ended up rushing in the end. ha ha! We’re looking forward to having a ladies night in the near future and having one of the painting classes at my home! This is how ours turned out… (Em’s on the left and mine on the right)
This was the example we were given:
Now I am home and have my precious lil Buggie curled up next to me sound asleep. God I love my lil monsters!
I really enjoyed this night out with one of the sweetest gals I know.
“Close friends are truly life’s treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone.” ? Vincent Van Gogh

Posted onFaith, love, & good folks
Posted onI survived the week of staying still (sorta). Today I was determined to clean our master bedroom. My hubster, mom, & Budah have done an amazing job keeping up with the rest of the house and chaos. So I was anxious to pitch in and tidy up a bit myself. Though this is possibly what I looked like by the time I was done, ha! I still can’t get over the love & endless support I have been given from my family & friends. So many amazing folks continuing to take a moment out of their busy days to lend a hand or lift my spirits with kind words. Today after finishing school, work, & chores Budah & his friend ran a big errand for maw-maw before they were off for a Friday skate sesh. A friend took time out of his day to drop off my prescriptions so that they would be ready for my love to pick up after work. Several sweet messages & text full of nothing but care and inspiration. Got a call from my lovely MIL wanting the run down on my appointment yesterday. It is nice to know we have a second Mom/Grandma (or maw-maw as Buggie says she is too) that is only a phone call away. Then another friend got Bunny home from school on this rainy day so that my mom didn’t have to go out. More reminders that faith, love, & good folks in your life is all you really need. This evening my rad hubster cooked some tasty broccoli & cauliflower soup for me. He didn’t even have a problem with me giving him the step by step instructions on how to make it. God out did himself when he gave me this fella to love me for the rest of our lives! Tonight my Goddaughter arrived for a weekend of fun. Budah will be bringing home a handful of teens to stay the night. I love having a houseful of monsters! It will be yet another busy weekend. After enjoying the rain we were blessed with today, we have our fingers crossed that the weekend forecast isn’t accurate! Bunny has a day full of cheerleading and pictures. I’m looking forward to an evening out with a friend. A slew of other things to take care of before this likely second surgery in a few days. And of course wrapping the weekend up with our final “Breaking Bad” evening with friends.

Posted onPumpkins & coloring
Posted onBuggie was pretty bummed that she wasn’t going to get to tag along with Bunny for her cheerleading practice this evening. Breaks my heart to see her upset when she can’t tag along with the older gals. So I promised her we would draw and color together. Suddenly the tears were no more. We drew pumpkins & colored them with Bitty and Budah too. She forgot all about hanging out with the big kiddos. Of course we drew a pumpkin for Bunny to color tomorrow.
