Today I am thankful for our health.
Some things are so easy to take for granted. Health is certainly one of them. We are especially thankful for our four lil monsters, while all born premature, they are very healthy.
Today I am thankful for the memories we have built in our new home over the last year.
It is a tremendous blessing to have a place to watch our children grow. To measure their height on a door frame. To build new traditions and continue old ones. A place that we can create special memories in the years to come.
41. I would rather handwrite a letter than send an email.
42. I may have a weakness for NOLA bounce music. Don’t judge me.
43. I want chickens, a mini potbelly pig, and a llama. Don’t think our HOA will allow them, but I am not opposed to the chickens and pig anyway. A llama may be tough to hide.
44. I have never loved another man the way I do my husband. He is truly the most supportive & caring fella ever. He’s also the only person that I have fully trusted with my heart.
45. I don’t have many female
friends, but the ones I do are amazing ladies.
46. I adore my gays!
47. My sister & I have never ever fought. Strange considering we are both spit fires.
48. I can be really quiet around folks I don’t know. But if you really know me, you know I am anything but the quiet type.
49. I love to read, but rarely find the time to do so. A fact I hope to find a way to change.
50. I have so much admiration for the ladies & gents that sign up for the military, but secretly pray my children never do. Selfish? Maybe, but it’s always been a huge fear of mine.
51. I will choose a bath over a shower any day.
52. I have a tendency of firmly standing my ground if I really believe in something.
53. My son is now the age I was when I got pregnant for him. I feel sorry for my daughters that will be watched very closely as they get older. And have no shame in embarrassing my son with reminders about the importance of safe sex.
54. I am friends with a few of my exes. My husband knows he never has to worry about this fact.
55. I have always wanted to go to Tuscany. The movie “Under The Tuscan Sun” increased my desire to do so.
56. We made so many pralines (150) as wedding favors that I haven’t made a single one in the nearly seven years since. I may make some soon.
57. I am a creature of habit and am also very superstitious.
58. I clean a lot when I am upset about something.
59. I have certain family recipes that I would never share with anyone outside of ours and I really hope our monsters carry on that tradition or I will haunt them.
60. I have never had a problem saying I am sorry when I am wrong. Especially to my monsters.
Today I am thankful for my B-Boo.
This girl. Where do I even start? She is five years younger than me. When her mom gave birth to her they lived with my dad and I. We lived with each other for a few years until my dad remarried. Then very sadly when her parents both passed she lived with us again. I can’t even begin to tell you the pillar of strength and inspiration my little cousin has always been to me. She is truly one of my best friends, more like my little sister, and an amazing Godmother to two of my monsters. I will forever be thankful for the bond we have always been blessed enough to share and the many crazy memories and secrets we share. You are one of a kind my B-Boo and I adore you.
Today I am thankful for my cousins.
I grew up in a very large family. With over 20 grandchildren spread across both sides of my family. Cousins are your first friends. Some of mine have always been more like sisters and brothers. Most of my greatest childhood memories were spent with them. Some I don’t get to talk to as often as I like. Some I am even closer to now than when we were kids. And some I speak to daily.

Today I am thankful for my Godparents, Nana & Freeman.
Godparents are such special people. They love you and care for you as if you were their own child. Mine were no exception. I know my Nana is only a phone call away. And I miss Freeman dearly, may he RIP.
How amazing is that beard? This was taken at my Christening at United Methodist Church in Da Parish.
Today I am thankful to be the lady I have become.
I am often judged and frequently misunderstood. If you really know me you will know I am a God fearing, faithful wife, protective mama, family first kinda gal, genuine friend, strong willed, loud, an endless worrier, often straight to the point, always wanting to help others, possibly ocd, crazy, anything but perfect, and sometimes want to kick myself for wearing my heart on my sleeve all too often.
While I know I can’t possibly please everyone. Will never be able to change some folk’s view of me. I know who I really am and that’s all that really matters.
Today I am thankful for our amazing friends.
Friends that are more like family than some of our blood relatives. When I was younger I had many “friends”. Of course not all were trustworthy. The friendships I hold now are solid. I love each and every one of them to pieces. I would choose a handful of friendships that are real over a boat load of them that aren’t any day.
Today I am thankful for the ability to be a stay at home mama.
Both the hardest and most rewarding job I have ever had and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have experienced both ends of the spectrum, working mom and SAHM. I cherish all of the additional time I have with my crazy monsters. And am thankful that my husband holds a good job that allows me to do so.
