Chores & treats

All of our parties and celebrations have come to a end. Okay, sort of. We still have Paw-Paw visiting, and he finally seems to be on the mend. And we’ve still got Father’s day, Aub’s actual birthday, & Maw-Maw’s birthday to celebrate this month. But school is out. No daily alarms to set. No dance classes. No school activities or homework to be done. Unfortunately though, it’s time to get this house back in order and last few things from the party tucked away. The girls seemed to have enjoyed almost a full week of not doing their daily chores, but we tag teamed getting things back on track and our home back in order. So proud of these little dolls for working together with me. No bickering or complaining. I think maybe when daddy gets home we will take them for an ice cream or snowball. Loving our summertime together!

Pajama Wednesday

Promised my husband I would really slow down, if only for a day after weeks of non stop activities. I’ve got to admit it was long over due. The only things I did today was pick up my coffee. Cook breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Clean the kitchen. Take a shower and put on new pjs. Turns out even our little ladies really enjoyed the down day. It was a perfect pajama Wednesday. I love the way he’s forever encouraging, even if it’s only encouraging me to take a break.

I love tacos so much…

Bittersweet kind of day. Our visit with Stacey came to an end. Poor Paw-Paw still isn’t 100%, so we decided it was best he stick around until he’s feeling better.

Before we headed to drop Stacey off for her trip home we made our way to the last place on her list of must see places while visiting.

The “I love tacos so much” wall!

Which gave us lots of laughs, especially since we took our pictures together with a taco:)

She’s not even home yet and I miss her already. So many late night laughs. Countless glasses of wine. So many rekindled memories since we were ten years old. I love this lady to pieces and am so thankful we’ve held on to this friendship all of these years. Looking forward to seeing her again soon either in New Orleans or back in Texas.

Girls day at Schlitterbahn

Daddy went back to work today. Paw-Paw still wasn’t feeling well. So it turned out to be a girls day at the waterpark. Stacey and I headed there with my three little ladies as well as one of Aub’s friends. Rain was still in the forecast, but there was no lightening in the mix so our fun never stopped. Loving making these memories!

Sprinkles & I love you so much Sunday in ATX

One of my long time best friends came to town with my dad for the week and to celebrate the girls’ birthdays. We were shocked to realize we’ve maintained this friendship for thirty years now.

We had planned to head to the waterpark to put our season passes to use first thing this morning. Only the 80% chance of rain helped us decide to switch our plans around a bit. Paw-Paw hasn’t been feeling well, so it gave him a quiet house and time to rest. So we headed to Austin for the day.

Stacey had a few things on her list that she wanted to see while in Texas and three of them were in Austin.

  • The “I love you so much” wall
  • Sprinkles pink cupcake ATM
  • Chris Kyle’s grave

We took her to all three places as well as Whataburger, because how do you go to Texas without eating at Whataburger?

It was a fun filled day with only a little rain in our path so it turned out to be a good idea.

Aub’s 12th & Mad’s 8th Carnival Birthday bash

Posted on

Thankfully the rain held out for what my mother in law referred to as the best party I’ve thrown for our children yet. I’ve waited years to throw this particular party and it was a blast! We rented a bounce house and turned our back yard into a colorful mini carnival. The kids were all given carnival tickets to play games like tin can crash, ring toss, bean bag toss, potato sack races, and we even had a tattoo and photo booth.

Inside we had fresh popped popcorn, cracker jacks, carnival peanuts, cotton candy, mini funnel cakes, mini corn dogs, goldfish, carnival animal cookies, popcorn chicken, carnival punch, and a variety of candy and three different kinds of colorful homemade cupcakes. For party favors we had cracker jacks, carnival animal cookies, & sidewalk chalk.

Eight!

Posted on

How is it possible that our little love bug turned today? Eight? She’s such a happy, loveable, free spirit that marches to the beat of her own drum.

This morning she woke up at 5:30am for her last day of 2nd grade with a huge smile when we handed her her first of 8 gifts she’ll receive today. New pjs and a birthday ribbon to wear for pajama day at school. We went to pick up a couple dozen donuts from her favorite donut shop to share with her class mates. I picked up her lunch request and went to have lunch with her and Bitty. Then went to the store for a few things to celebrate her birthday this evening with a few friends and family. I wonder if this kiddo realizes just how loved she is? I also wonder if she knows it’s looking like she’s going to be a shorty like her mama? She’s a good two inches shorter than her big sissy was when she turned eight. Too cute! Happy 8th birthday Mad!
