Our monsters apparently enjoyed their fun filled day, because they were so tuckered out they (with the exception of Budah) were all sound asleep by 8pm tonight. I must admit, this has been the most peaceful Christmas we have had in years surrounded by nothing but happiness and loved ones.

Bunny attempted to wake us up at 1:45am to tell us Santa had already been here. This was about 30 minutes after I had fell asleep. She ended up going back to sleep for a few more hours with us until the rest of our monsters woke up too. Everyone seemed pretty happy with their variety of presents. Bitty loves her new house. Buggie was rather stoked about her Spider-man that is almost as tall as she is. Bunny just about jumped out of her skin when she opened her American girl doll. Budah seemed happiest about his dickies overalls. My love was happy to get a new latte maker. And while I loved & appreciated every single gift I received today I have to say my absolute favorite gift was the one that didn’t cost a penny. It was the super mushy and loving letter my husband wrote me. God I love this man.

After opening gifts instead of me cooking them our traditional fun Christmas breakfast, we ended up going out to eat. Then coming back in time for my MIL’s arrival to spend the day with us. Even Phil & Leilani came over for a visit today. Jillskie helped me cook a big traditional Christmas dinner while the fellas prepared our monsters last big surprise for Christmas…a trampoline! Watching our four lil monsters playing on it was nothing short of priceless.

While we all enjoyed our new special things, we haven’t lost sight of what Christmas is truly about. Teaching our monsters the true reason for Christmas is important to us. Having our parents here to spend this day with us and be able to share their excitement and laughter, I have no words for how much that meant to Matt & I.
