Dom’s Dinosaur Day!

Posted on

We decided we wanted to take our grandson to see DINOSAURS for his 4th birthday. So we headed for Cedar Creek to Dinosaur Park for the day! It was a fun filled day of dinos, exploring, and big imaginations. Dom wore that big handsome smile of his pretty much all day!The lady that put Dom’s wrist band on at the dino park told him she was putting it on him to keep him safe from the dinosaurs. As we were leaving Dom saw me start to take mine off and told me “Wait Maw-Maw! You need to leave that on so the dinosaurs can’t eat you!” Thank goodness he kept me safe!

Chaos & love

Life is busy. Life gets chaotic. Sometimes schedules don’t match up. Sometimes they do! This evening we got to spend time with most of our kids and grandkids and it was fantastic! Daddy & Aub went to see “It” while I took Mad & Bitty to see a movie that nightmares aren’t made of (ha ha)”Leap” at the theatre. Then we were able to meet up with our DIL and grandbabies for dinner! Budah was at band practice and didn’t make it, but it was pretty close to having us all there so I’m calling it a win! I love this family that I am so blessed to call mine!

The beginning of Nina & Maw-Maw Tuesdays!

Posted on

I honestly adore every moment we have with our grandchildren, Dom & Nina. They are the most incredible grandbabies ever, yes, I’m sure I’m a bit partial:) but seriously, every moment you spend with them is simply the best days ever. Dom, our 3 year old grandson, is energetic, full of imagination, humerous, bright, loving, and you really never know what a going to come out of his mouth. Nina, our 20 month old granddaughter, is a teeny tiny little lady with a huge personality. She is so close to starting to walk that I’m pretty sure she will be running days later. She loves to make you laugh, loves to explore, full of cuddles, shy around those she isn’t familiar with, and just a plain joy to be around.

So imagine my excitement when our DIL asked me if I’d like to keep her on Tuesdays so she could pull an extra shift at work? I’ll be looking forward to Tuesdays every week now!

Judy Hops

To know our granddaughter Nina, is to know her love for the movie Zootopia. I think by now even I may know it word for word, and I’m fairly certain her mama and daddy must. Every night that she spends the night we watch this movie. So imagine my excitement when Matt and I stumbled upon this little Judy Hops doll? She lit up when we showed it to her and she fell asleep hugging her new doll tonight. I adore the sweet individual personalities of our grandbabies.

First day of 7th, 3rd, kindergarten, & pre-k

Posted on

I wonder if I’m the only mama that is sad about my babies going back to school? I see so many mama’s post counting down the days and I sort of envy it, because watching my littles head back to school makes me sad. Especially now that they all three have full days at school!

Yet the inevitable is here! New school clothes, shoes, backpacks, and supplies are ready as much as I drag my feet! Today Aub heads to a new school for 7th grade, Mad heads into 3rd grade, Bitty starts her first full days of school in kindergarten and was a little taken back by the fact that waking up early is her new reality. And last but not least our grandson, Dom, begins pre-k! Quite the exciting day for these four cuties!

Aub was full of smiles! Even allowed me to stand at the bus stop with her if I promised to not make her take a picture as she got on the bus. Downfall for her, a friend of mine is her new bus driver and told her to turn around and smile for her mama! I kept my promise and got my picture? Score!

Mad was super ready, but got a bit teary eyed when reality set in. Turns out she wasn’t quite ready to say her goodbyes either.

Bitty was full of excitement! That is until we arrived to the school. Nope wasn’t having it! I carried my big girl to the gym. Daddy and I sat with her while she clung to me. Secretly my heart broke for her because while I wasn’t happy about it either it hurt far worse seeing her so distraught. On the plus side my friend is her teacher this year and I know she was definitely being left in good hands. I promised to walk with her to her class if she was a big girl and held my hand and walked, that I couldn’t carry her all the way to her kindergarten class. Oh how I wanted to scoop her up and run out of that building! She wasn’t happy, but she did it. And before we left we got a big smile from our little bitty big girl!

(Found these adorable first day of school printables on Pinterest! And had Matt make me the “stop crying mama” sign for Bitty to hold for a picture while I held her first day of kindergarten sign)Keeping with tradition, Daddy took some PTO to have the first day of school off together! While I try to be brave about the first day of school, he knows this mama really has a tough time letting go. He held my hand all the way to the car while I let a few tears spill once I was far enough away from our girls to do so. I cant wait to hear all about their first day and how great it is!

Today I get to do some shopping with my love and have lunch at P.F. Chang.

And well because I could use some humor…
