Day full of joy & sadness…

Today has been an eventful day full of so much joy and sadness. This morning Nina & I saw my husband and kids off to school and work. We had a make up day for “Nina & Maw-Maw Tuesday”. We had breakfast with her GG. I took her to the pumpkin patch and then to have lunch with her Paw-Paw. I went shopping for a wedding gift for my best friend and then the sad news that she’s been dreading arrived, her sweet Maw-Maw passed away today just three days before her wedding day. I remember that heartache. I still feel it to this day. And it makes me so sad that she has to know that kind of heartache during one of the happiest times of her life.

Solar Eclipse of 2017

It’s been such a big deal in the weeks leading up to today. The girls were excited about it. Matt took off a half day to come home and see it with our children and grandchildren. We opted to forgo the glasses and make the pin hole projector to not risk the little ones eyes. My friend and her family even came over to watch it with us. The kids all got a kick out of seeing the eclipse, even our grandson thought it was neat. I imagine our 20 month old granddaughter will be more interested in 2024 for the next one, but she wasn’t about to miss out on seeing what was in that box too, ha ha.

Skating with friends on our last day in town

The reason why my body is sore tonight, my hand is bruised, and my knee is a bit swollen. But considering Mad fell 842 times and got back up and tried again time and time again I had to skate a bit longer to not let her down after my one and only spill. I wish I was half as resilient as our little ladies! We will be going skating a lot more in Texas too! So much fun, minus busting my ass.

I love tacos so much…

Bittersweet kind of day. Our visit with Stacey came to an end. Poor Paw-Paw still isn’t 100%, so we decided it was best he stick around until he’s feeling better.

Before we headed to drop Stacey off for her trip home we made our way to the last place on her list of must see places while visiting.

The “I love tacos so much” wall!

Which gave us lots of laughs, especially since we took our pictures together with a taco:)

She’s not even home yet and I miss her already. So many late night laughs. Countless glasses of wine. So many rekindled memories since we were ten years old. I love this lady to pieces and am so thankful we’ve held on to this friendship all of these years. Looking forward to seeing her again soon either in New Orleans or back in Texas.

Girls day at Schlitterbahn

Daddy went back to work today. Paw-Paw still wasn’t feeling well. So it turned out to be a girls day at the waterpark. Stacey and I headed there with my three little ladies as well as one of Aub’s friends. Rain was still in the forecast, but there was no lightening in the mix so our fun never stopped. Loving making these memories!
