Tonight our growing way too fast 12 year old went to her first junior high school dance with her best friend. She even wanted me to do her hair for her and let me help her pick out her dress. I’m sure that won’t be the case in the years to come so I’ll cherish these little moments while we have them. Probably the most comical realization as we dropped the girls off was that in that same vehicle was our grandkids watching their aunt go to her first dance. Life really does change so rapidly. When the girls got home I got to see all of their pictures and videos they took. Safe to say they had a lot of fun dancing the night away!

Total miracle
Posted onIt’s a complete and total miracle. Took Aub dress shopping last night for her first school dance and she wanted the very first and only dress she tried on! Thank you baby Jesus! But seriously though who told this girl she can grow up so fast?

Polar express & another Christmas performance
Posted onSpent a few hours helping in Bitty’s class for her kindergarten polar express party! It hit me today. I only have four more years of these Christmas parties before all of my babies are in middle and high school. I loved watching all of these precious five and six year olds share a breakfast together before doing their book exchange. And the book exchange, such an adorable moment to watch Bitty’s expression when she realized she got the Polar Express book! I love these priceless moments and that my husband makes it possible for me to not have to miss them.
This evening was our second Christmas performance of the week, this time for our sweet 3rd grader! We so enjoyed watching her sing and dance her little heart out! Life gets so hectic and busy during the holidays, but it truly is a magical time of year. I just can’t believe how fast these years are flying by!

Posted onFun Friday
Posted onEventful day, Matt and I volunteered for field day with Mad & Bitty. Inbetween their events had time to go have lunch with Aub. Gave my son a hair cut this evening. And a sleep over tonight with out grandbabies. I love fun filled days with our family!
Who else remembers the parachute day in PE as a kid? I got to experience it next to Mad this time!
Silence is deafening.
Posted onThis silence is deafening! House is clean. Our girls’ weekly chore chart made. I can literally hear the clock ticking. For sure going to have to start new routines, hobbies, more book reading, getting out of the house, taking a class, volunteering at the school, or maybe even a part time job before I go mad! This new phase in my life is harder than I expected after having children home with me year round for the last 12 years. Thankful I have so many options and a husband that will back any path I opt to go down. I can hardly wait for my Nina & Maw-Maw Tuesdays to begin next week! I really thrive with the sound of my children and grandchildren! They grow up far faster than my heart will ever be ready for.
First day of 7th, 3rd, kindergarten, & pre-k
Posted onI wonder if I’m the only mama that is sad about my babies going back to school? I see so many mama’s post counting down the days and I sort of envy it, because watching my littles head back to school makes me sad. Especially now that they all three have full days at school!
Yet the inevitable is here! New school clothes, shoes, backpacks, and supplies are ready as much as I drag my feet! Today Aub heads to a new school for 7th grade, Mad heads into 3rd grade, Bitty starts her first full days of school in kindergarten and was a little taken back by the fact that waking up early is her new reality. And last but not least our grandson, Dom, begins pre-k! Quite the exciting day for these four cuties!
Aub was full of smiles! Even allowed me to stand at the bus stop with her if I promised to not make her take a picture as she got on the bus. Downfall for her, a friend of mine is her new bus driver and told her to turn around and smile for her mama! I kept my promise and got my picture? Score!
Mad was super ready, but got a bit teary eyed when reality set in. Turns out she wasn’t quite ready to say her goodbyes either.
Bitty was full of excitement! That is until we arrived to the school. Nope wasn’t having it! I carried my big girl to the gym. Daddy and I sat with her while she clung to me. Secretly my heart broke for her because while I wasn’t happy about it either it hurt far worse seeing her so distraught. On the plus side my friend is her teacher this year and I know she was definitely being left in good hands. I promised to walk with her to her class if she was a big girl and held my hand and walked, that I couldn’t carry her all the way to her kindergarten class. Oh how I wanted to scoop her up and run out of that building! She wasn’t happy, but she did it. And before we left we got a big smile from our little bitty big girl!
(Found these adorable first day of school printables on Pinterest! And had Matt make me the “stop crying mama” sign for Bitty to hold for a picture while I held her first day of kindergarten sign)Keeping with tradition, Daddy took some PTO to have the first day of school off together! While I try to be brave about the first day of school, he knows this mama really has a tough time letting go. He held my hand all the way to the car while I let a few tears spill once I was far enough away from our girls to do so. I cant wait to hear all about their first day and how great it is!
Today I get to do some shopping with my love and have lunch at P.F. Chang.
And so Junior High begins…
Posted onToday was prep day for Aub. Junior high already? I swear it was just yesterday our tiny little girl was climbing into a school bus for the first time with a backpack that looked bigger than her and a smile that stretched for miles. Now she’s entering seventh grade, grew into that backpack, same big beautiful smile, and oh so much potential. She is truly becoming an amazing young lady and we are so blessed to be her parents. Now if only I could convince her to slow it down a tad?
Adios 6th, 2nd, & pre-k…
Posted onThe end of sixth grade, second grade, and pre-k is coming tomorrow. So today I did my best to be in three places at once. Went to see our two youngest at their school before their class parties started. Went over to our oldest daughter’s school to have lunch with her. Then back to the class parties. I swear this is all happening so fast. Can’t wait to spend the next two and a half months with with my babies!
Off and away!
Posted onThis evening was Aub’s 6th grade award ceremony. Can’t believe our little girl will start middle school next year! She’s done amazing this year. One point away from having honor roll all year long! Joined student council this year. All on top of dance classes. We’re so proud of the young lady she’s becoming.
