Sisters & breakfast

Posted on

This morning Aub asked if she could cook eggs for her sisters and herself. Bitty fell back asleep before they were ready. So Aub & Mad took the time to make her a plate, wrap it up, and put it in the fridge for later. Thankful our girls don’t always have sibling rivalry and show their love for each other often. Just maybe not so much when it’s time to clean up their bedroom or gameroom, ha ha!

My love’s 38th

Nine years ago today I made my new boyfriend cupcakes that said “baby cheeks” (one of our endless inside jokes) for his 29th birthday. Today our five year old, Mad, and I baked him a pineapple colada cake. While our three year old, Bitty, made him a play dough cake. And our nine year old, Aub, made him a sweet video collage. This evening we went to celebrate his birthday with a Chicago style dinner at a place that just opened that we first tried on a trip to Chicago last year. It was a fun evening with our little monsters and our moms celebrating a fella that we all adore. Happy birthday love!

Mosh Pit & Lemonade

I knew it wouldn’t be a good thing getting a call from our eighteen year old son at 7am on a Saturday morning.  After a fun night at a show and forgetting to take his glasses off before going into a pit he got a quick life lesson. Mosh pits and eyeglasses never mix. The poor fella is half blind without them, so thankfully we were able to find a place to get an appointment and a new pair in a matter of hours.

Aside from the craziness with Budah’s glasses we decided to participate in our neighborhood yard sale day to get rid of some clutter. What better time for our three little lovelies to sell some lemonade? They sold out and were beyond excited that their big brother was their first customer too. I can still remember his first lemonade stand when he was all of five years old.

Can’t catch me…

Posted on

Every evening our family has dinner together. Sometimes it’s a calm meal where we catch up and chat about our day. Sometimes it’s down right chaotic. Either way we are at that table together.

Tonight was a bit chaotic! Our littles were loud. Bitty couldn’t stay still. And then all of a sudden she was out of her chair and running away from the table. As we attempted to call her back to the table she starts giggling and yells “Can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man!”. Correcting her for running away from the table wasn’t much of an option because I couldn’t stop laughing! Three years old and this lil monsters is absolutely hysterical! She ended up coming back to the table on her own of course, but I still couldn’t stop laughing.

Frankenstein & a lightsaber

Posted on

Mad likes to do her homework for the week on Monday and then do daily reading and sight words the rest of the  week. Today struck me funny and I had to share.

List 6 things that are green:

1. shamrock 2. grass 3. peas 4. green beans 5. leaves 6. Frankenstein

(Frankenstein was easily my favorite answer)

Write two sentences about what you would buy if you found a pot of gold:?

1. I would buy toys. 2. I would buy a lightsaber!

(At first she said she would buy a crib for Aub’s baby when they grow up. I suggested she write sentences about what she would buy for herself now.)
