Any given day with our toddler..

Posted on

Today started with our three year old, Bitty, waking up and singing from her bed around 8am:

“Get on your marks, and ready, and then GO!”

It was almost as if she was warning me, ha ha. Of course a lot of our daily routines are the same. A little Disney junior, breakfast, coloring, playing, puzzles, singing, ABC’s & 123’s, lunch, more playing & silliness, then time to get her sisters from school and chase them around. Then of course there are the random little things she does that also makes me smile throughout our day. Like today when she was playing and randomly started singing in her best Annie voice as she twirled around like a ballerina in her little princess dress “It’s a hard knock life for us. It’s a hard knock life for us…”. Then as Daddy & I were piddling around in the kitchen I opened the refrigerator to discover a barbie in her convertible just sitting there on the bottom shelf. I asked her if she was missing something? As she peeks in there and squealed “There you are!”. Wonder how long she’s been missing?

I’m so thankful for these days with our last little one at home. Before I know it she’ll be off to school too. I hope the days leading up to her first day of school drag by. Our 4 lil monsters seriously need to slow down with this growing up business!

Jump Roping & Mardi Gras

Posted on

So this afternoon our two youngest monsters are playing with some beads that came with a king cake. After they connected a few of them together Bitty said “Let’s jump rope!”. So her and Mad each grabbed an end and started jumping up and down as Bitty happily cheered “we’re jump roping!”. Then as if that wasn’t cute enough the conversation goes like this:

Bitty: “I just love Mardi Gras!”
Mad: “My Mommy is from Mardi Gras and she knows everything!”
Me: “Really?”
Mad: “Well you are from New Orleans and that’s where Mardi Gras is!”
Bitty: “I love Mardi Gras! I love Mardi Gras!”

I love these silly munchkins!

The birthday dollar

Posted on

Celebrating my mother in law’s birthday tonight and watching her open a birthday gift Aub proudly put together for her on her own. As my MIL was finishing up looking at her gifts Aub reaches into her shirt…

Aub: “Wait there’s something else. I hear they have nice things at dollar tree.”

Me: “Did you just pull a dollar out of your bra?”

Maw-Maw Susie: “Are you wearing a bra?”

Aub & the Barbie doll house lamp

Posted on

The house has been nice and quiet. Little monsters are all in bed. Hubster is visiting our friends for a couple hours. Alarm is set. Just a mellow Friday night at home. I’m laying here pinning away on Pinterest when Aub bust through our bedroom door in a panic and dives in the bed next to me. Apparently a commercial had scared her on tv so she wanted to lay here with me. Then I felt something in her hand and used the light on my phone to see what it was. This silly girl had the lamp from her Barbie doll house. I’m not really sure what she thought she was going to do with this lamp, but she was holding on to it for dear life! After a while she was ready to go back up to her room, but had me walk out by they stair to watch her. As she was about to walk into her room I told her to try not to take anyone down with her Barbie lamp. She got a good giggle out of that. She may have been spooked, but she wasn’t going to go down without a fight!

Banana pudding & cuddles

Posted on

I like five years old. Yesterday Mad was my big kiddo that made a banana pudding for Labor Day pretty much on her own with just a little bit of guidance. We love cooking together. It’s sort of our thing. This evening after her and her big sister had a dinner/play date with their friends, a very rare treat on a school night, she was happy to come home and get ready for bed and just cuddle with me and chit chat about everything that has been on her mind lately. I love my conversations with our monsters. Each of them have their own personality. Their own level of maturity and interest. And I love nothing more than having our children know they can talk to me about any and everything.

I like five years old. She’s old enough to be my big helper, but small enough to still be my little cuddle bum.IMG_1955.PNG

Tootsie madness

Posted on

If there is one thing my little ladies and I love, it’s always having our tootsies painted. Even my lil Mad…as long as her’s are painted blue, green, or white. Bitty always loves her fingernails done as well. Mad never does. And Aub, well it depends on her mood. But today Bitty decided her baby doll needed her nails polished as well. So while she patiently waited for her polish to dry she happily watched me paint her baby’s nails too. Then Aub asked me to paint her America girl doll’s nails pink as well. And before I knew it Mad took off out of the room to get something. Not to be left out she decided Leonardo…her teenage mutant ninja turtle needed his toes polished blue too. As if I don’t say it enough God I love our four lil monsters and all of the happiness they bring into our lives!IMG_1708.JPG
