Woke up early, checked out, paid one last visit to The Fuller Cup, and was on our way to Salem! I was really looking forward to this part of the trip. My mom had told me about her trip here with Papa Joe and I still wear his Salem t-shirt. We only had until about 2:30 to explore before we needed to head back to Boston to return our “kah” (car) and hop on a plane back to our little ladies!
We explored old cemeteries, walked through a fun little shopping area, drove past a few landmarks, hit up a fun little thrift shop, went to America’s oldest candy store that opened in 1806 “Ye Olde Pepper Candy Companie” for some goodies for our lil monsters, yet another books store, found Najah a doggie souvineer, grabbed lunch from a place that was once a firehouse, and got a soft served coffee ice cream with chocolate jimmies (sprinkles) from Dairy Witch Ice Cream to share on our way to the airport. And don’t worry, we didn’t think to have a witch put a hex on anyone, so you’re safe, ha ha!
We had such a good time and was so exhausted we both traveled home in slippers. We had a delayed flight in Baltimore, but made the best of it and shared a Baltimore Club for dinner (a blue crab cake sandwich with shrimp salad on it). We promised the girls we’d wake them up when we got in and did just that when B-Boo got us home from the airport a little after midnight! They were so excited for all of their souvineers, lol, and okay, they were ecstatic we were home too!
Just some of our pictures from Salem and one or two from the airport.
